Extended deadlines

Dear Colleagues,
As requested by many authors, we are pleased to announce that the deadline for abstracts submission to the “XI Girona Seminar on Carbon, Metal, and Carbon-Metal Clusters: From Theory to Applications has been extended till June 1st 2014 (please check: https://xigironaseminar2014.wordpress.com/abstracts/)
In addition, please consider the following important dates:
Early registration: 1st June 2014
Notification of accepted abstracts: 7th June 2014

For further information, do not hesitate to contact us via gisem2014@gmail.com.
Looking forward to welcoming you in the XI Girona Seminar!XI Girona Seminar Organizing Committee
Organized by the Institute of Computational Chemistry and Catalysis of the University of Girona (http://iqcc.udg.edu)

Registration is now open!

Dear colleague,

The XI Girona Seminar on Carbon, Metal, and Carbon-Metal Clusters: From Theory to Applications is already open for registration in the following link: https://xigironaseminar2014.wordpress.com/registration/

The standard registration fee is 550 EUR, whereas the reduced registration fee for PhD students is 300 EUR. The registration fee includes coffee-breaks, lunches, social events and the conference dinner. The deadline for registration is June 1st 2014. Details about the payment can be found in the webpage.

List of invited speakers is available at: https://xigironaseminar2014.wordpress.com/lectures/

Researchers have the opportunity to present their research as a short communication. As the number of short communications is reduced, the scientific committee will select them from the abstracts received, the rest will be accepted as a poster. The deadline for abstract submission is May 1st 2014, and the accepted ones as communications will be announced on May 7th 2014 in the conference website (please check: https://xigironaseminar2014.wordpress.com/abstracts/).

The attendees of the XI Girona Seminar are also encouraged to submit an article to the invited special issue in the Theoretical Chemistry Accounts journal. For more information regarding the TCA contribution, please check https://xigironaseminar2014.wordpress.com/issue-tca/.

For further information, do not hesitate to contact us via gisem2014@gmail.com.

We are looking forward to seeing you all in Girona next summer!

Best regards,

Pay attention to XI Girona Seminar 2014 !

The Girona Seminars have taken place in the historic town of Girona every two years since back to 1993, with the aim of bringing together, in a beautiful environment and in an informal and friendly atmosphere, young and senior scientists.

For 2014, we have decided to continue the organization of the Girona Seminars that started in 1993 and continued until 2012 with the X edition (see also a list of previous organized congresses). We are now starting the organization of the XI Girona Seminar that will be held at the Universitat de Girona from June 30th until July 3rd 2014.

The aim of the conference is to discuss the recent advances in theoretical and experimental studies of carbon and metal clusters, in special emphasis in the research carried out on all-metal aromatic clusters, aromatic metallacycles, graphene, fullerenes, open-cage fullerenes, endohedral metallofullerenes, capsules with a nanoscale cavity for fullerene encapsulation, and metal-organic frameworks, but other aspects related to recent advances in experimental and theoretical chemistry will be certainly also welcome.
